On Duty: a powerful solution for human resources management in hospital departments.

Weekly Plan
UMS On Duty is the perfect human resources management tool.

Precise staff scheduling enhances doctors and nurses' productivity and motivation.
The person in charge of activity planning in hospital departments occasionally needs to adjust certain contrasting aspects: the demand for competence and productivity and, the peculiar professional and psychological commitment demanded of doctors and nurses.

The fact that healthcare service expenditure mostly depends on human resources must be taken into account: it requires a mindful and periodical study of the workforce and the activities performed. Transparent workload distribution methods and periodical reports addressed to staff members are the best way of increasing compliance and reducing internal conflicts.

A simple rational solution to the problem of staff management
On Duty is a simple rational solution to the problem of staff management,
It balances mean workloads and correctly plans vacations and leave without impacting the activity schedule.
This extensively configurable system specifies required tasks, develops the yearly activity plan, manages vacations and absences of personnel, provides a concise description of scheduled activities for each staff member, regularly monitors the relationship between required tasks and available resources in a certain period, prints each doctor's weekly timetable, provides weekly work plan reports and drafts them to suit doctors’ skills or compatibilities towards specific activities.

The system plans absences, defines either occasional or standing personal priorities, possible incompatibilities and skills.

The operator manually enters the weekly shifts with the assistance of summary information for each staff member: shifts that are either due or not, overtime, absences, etc.

System Features
  • Manages continuous shifts (24/24 hours, 7/7 days), partial ones (6,8,12 hours, 5,6 days) and occasional ones through standard timetables for each activity type.
  • Defines the human resources required by the actual timetable of scheduled activities.
  • Checks the working hours schedule to prevent inconsistencies (i.e. a shift from 8:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m. and one from 02:00 p.m. to 08:00 p.m. can’t be assigned to the same doctor).
  • Plans absences.
  • Defines either occasional or standing personal preferences.
  • Defines compatibilities.
  • Assigns specific skills to each staff member.
  • Defines homogeneous teams by work type and competence.

On Duty implements several tools to manage the following essential information:
  • staff members’ personal data;

  • standard department schedules;
  • weekly requirements’ schedules;
  • doctor's personal schedules.
